Seeking a unique gift? A customized song is an original work of art you can enjoy for years to come! Since 2013, resident songwriter Krista Muir has delivered over a hundred custom Chanson-O-Grammes to those who love her unique voice. With a few words or phrases provided by you, Muir divines the melody and mood, crafting a personal, poignant ode in the genre of your choosing. Whether romantic, triumphant, elegant, or comedic, and in genres ranging from folk to punk to new wave to polka and everything in between, Chanson-O-Grammes are tailored to celebrate your stories. 

Classic Chanson-O-Grammes (link to a selection of 2015 songs I have permission to share) are 1~ long and can mark special occasions (birthday, rite of passage, anniversary, divorce party - you can imagine it? It can exist!) or celebrating loved ones (pets, friends, crushes, spirits, yourself). They can also be odes to your favourite places, concepts - inanimate objects. 

We've also delivered songs to celebrate small businesses such as Dogwood Records and The Screening Room as well as commemorate an interactive art installation in a Montréal school.

Lederhosen Lucil is also available to interpret compositions. We are multi-lingual and have written in a variety of languages - French, Spanish, German, Elvish to date. The odd client has also provided lryics and we've set them to music (additional fee as this is a delicate balance!). 

What does a Chanson-O-Gramme cost? The classic custom 1~ minute Chanson-O-Gramme (uke + voice) is $200 CA. A 2~min song  (fully orchestrated and mixed) starts at $400+ CA. This is a baseline so if you have a question for something specific - inquire! Muir once wrote a 6-min mini operetta for $5000 (2012). 

Public commissioned works and commercial works are also possible. We sing all things!

Elizabeth told me that she had downloaded a new track from Lederhosen Lucil,and that I should listen to it on my way to work because it was really good. We saw Lederhosen Lucil at a show a long time ago where she was the opening act for Dj Kid Koala and we've gotten a lot of mileage (10 years or so) out of the CD that we bought at the show. So I'm excited to hear a new track. It seems sort of lo-fi compared to her other album... almost like it's live. And the lyrics are kind of weird-- although her talking about pizza would not be that out of line. Then she mentions a crappy green Saturn with a sun roof that leaks. Wait a minute how does she know about that; that's my old car! Wait, this whole song is about US! What's going on here?? So I listen again and yes from start to finish, it's a song about Elizabeth and I first meeting. In 2014 Krista was interviewed on CBC's Daybreak for their Valentine's Day edition and several happy patrons gave us permission to share their songs on the radio and through our website. This selection gives you an idea of the kind of artistry - poetry, musicality, humour - we can offer you. Some songs are full on polka kitsch with Lederhosen Lucil at the mic and others Krista channels a dreamy Orbisonesque sound with a baritone ukulele.

Our sound and production skills have evolved over the past 13 years since we first began writing, recording, mixing and releasing Chanson-O-Grammes in 2013 but bringing out the heart and soul of each story to serve these unique songs has remained constant. Ici on chante l'amour!
